The Course Mapping Tool

What is the purpose of the Course Mapping Tool?

With over 150 ICCIT courses, this tool helps students visualize pathways through our programs. Each course includes links to prerequisites, subsequent courses, the term(s) a course is offered, and career-related suggestions.

Who created this app?

The tool was conceptualized by ICCIT faculty member Steve Szigeti, with support from Undergraduate Program Coordinator Truc Tran. Eva Chan (CCIT alum), Stephen Keller, and Joanna Ong contributed to its design and development. Declan Phillips, an ICCIT student, updated the content for 2025–2026.

When was the app launched?

It launched in June 2025—so it’s still new! We welcome your feedback.

How can I tell a course is required for my program?

Current students can view their degree and program requirements using Degree Explorer (https://www.acorn.utoronto.ca/degree-explorer). The Course Mapping Tool is available to help students visualize potential course pathways.

Am I allowed to enroll in courses from other ICCIT programs?

It depends. You can check the Enrolment Controls listed on the Timetable Builder (https://ttb.utoronto.ca/) to see if a course is restricted to students in a specific program.

How do I know what day and time the course is being offered?
